Anna Reinhardt Thompson, M.Ed., M.A., BCBA, LBA
Co-Founder and Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA)
Anna is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She has been working in the behavior field for more than 10 years and has experience with children and adults diagnosed with autism and other mental illnesses. She holds master’s degrees in Education and Interpretive Speech. Anna’s education and experiences contribute to her ability to provide sound and creative strategies with the needs of individuals and families at the forefront.
Anna lived and taught in Germany for years and speaks German fluently. She has directed several plays (okay, only amateur theater, but still), loves traveling, thinks she loves to garden (until the end of summer when it’s too hot), cooks enough food to feed an army, and is terrible at knitting.
Chris has been working with children and adults diagnosed with autism and other mental illnesses for more than 15 years. Chris’s experience has ranged from working directly with clients to overseeing programs. Presently, he oversees recruiting and development at A Brand New Day ABA.
Chris loves cars and golf, is a die-hard Yankee fan, and knows how to cook a steak. But more importantly, Chris loves and values people, enjoys a good laugh, and is committed to providing the best care to those we serve.
Vice President of Operations
Martha comes to A Brand New Day with many years of experience in the insurance industry. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Bob Jones University. She brings to the company her knowledge of compliance, insurance acumen, and technical troubleshooting. Working closely alongside the BCBAs and clinical assistants, Martha’s focus is to ensure A Brand New Day delivers the best possible care to its clients each and every day.
Martha has her black belt in karate from a very long time ago, but it still counts! She loves to read, she despises cooking but loves to eat, and she loves to travel but hates to drive. She has one fabulous husband, three rambunctious children, and one very spoiled dog.
Vice President of Human Resources
Sophia Castellanos began her career with A Brand New Day in 2017 as the Human Resource Manager, and then was promoted to V.P. of Human Resources in 2018. Sophia holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications – Human Relations from Western Connecticut State University and has more than 12 years of experience in the field. She is also fluent in Spanish.
Called “Chicken Mother” by her friends, Sophia raises chickens and enjoys fresh eggs daily. She has three amazing children that she loves to miss occasionally, a cat who runs her home, and is fortunate enough to be married to a man who is a great cook. Sophia also fancies herself to enjoy hiking when the weather is conducive (between 65 and 70 degrees) and has an unhealthy passion for chocolate.
Abigail Holt, M.A., BCBA, LBA
Clinical Director and Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA)
Abby is a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) and Clinical Director at A Brand New Day ABA. Abby has over 10 years experience working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
In 2013, Abby earned her Master’s of Arts in Special Education and Graduate Certificates in Autism Spectrum Disorders, and Applied Behavioral Analysis from the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, Connecticut. In May 2015, she obtained her certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB). Abby has presented at professional conferences including the Connecticut Association for Behavior Analysis (CTABA) and Applied Behavior Analysis International (ABAI). Abby is a member of Connecticut Association for Behavior Analysis (CTABA) and the Behavior Analyst Leadership Council (BALC).
Abby hopes to change the lives of clients and their families using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in the home, school, and community environments.
In her free time, Abby enjoys spending time outside at the beach in the summer and skiing in the mountains in the winter. She also loves to travel and has been to more than 10 different countries.
Ashley Dziura Borysewicz , M.S., BCBA, LBA
Assistant Clinical Director and Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA)
Ashley Dziura Borysewicz is an Assistant Clinical Director and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) at A Brand New Day.
Ashley earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Boston in 2011 and her master’s degree in autism and applied behavior analysis from the University of Saint Joseph in 2017. She obtained her certification as a BCBA August of 2018 by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB). Ashley has worked in many settings such as personal residences, group homes, private schools for individuals with special needs, public schools, in-patient units, day cares, and other community settings. She has worked with individuals ranging from 18-months to 21 years of age with a wide-range of challenging behaviors that impact daily living. Ashley is a member of CTABA and BALC. Her professional interests included using behavioral skills training to teach parenting skills.
Ashley enjoys all things related to Disney and collects anything and everything mermaid themed. Her hobbies include binge watching Netflix shows, dancing wherever/whenever/to whatever, and going to the movies. She grew up on Cape Cod and makes an effort to get back there whenever she can!
Julie Nichols, M.A., BCBA, LBA
Assistant Clinical Director
Julie is an Assistant Clinical Director at A Brand New Day and a licensed Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with over 12 years experience working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
Julie earned her master’s degree in Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, with a focus on Child and Adolescent Services. She has worked with families and individuals with autism spectrum disorder, and a variety of developmental disabilities, ranging in ages from 3-21 years old. Early on in Julie’s career she worked as a behavior therapist in special education self-contained, collaborative, and inclusion classrooms as well as in homes and the community. For six years she held the role of clinical coordinator for school-based autism programs in Western CT. In this position she gained experience writing and implementing IEPs, developing behavioral programming, and providing training/consultation to school staff. She has helped construct academic modifications and behavioral interventions for special education students in the elementary grades through high school.
In addition to her interest in all things behavior related, Julie enjoys spending time with her husband, 2 children, and Great Dane named Rose. She is a classically trained pianist and is excited that her daughter is following in her footsteps. Julie also loves to swim, ski, and watch documentaries about nature.
Suzanne Claiborne, M.A., BCBA, LBA
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Suzanne Claiborne is a licensed Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Suzanne obtained her master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Teachers College, Columbia University. She has worked with children aged 1-19 years old on the autism spectrum since 2009. She has worked as a behavior therapist in special education self-contained and inclusion classroom settings. Suzanne has held the role of a clinical supervisor in Early Intervention, school, home, and community-based programs.
In addition to applying principles of ABA to education and skill acquisition, Suzanne’s interests include verbal behavior, staff training, and organizational behavior management. She enjoys watching the progress her clients make and the difference it makes in the lives of their families and communities.
Rio Comaduran, MSW, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Rio works at A Brand New Day as a supervisor to behavior technicians in ABA therapy for youth on the spectrum. She also provides assessments and parent training.
Rio comes to A Brand New Day with many years of experience in the field of social work, focusing in the areas of immigration where she worked with newly arrived refugees. She has worked as a case manager to a gang members seeking to reduce gun violence. And she also provided group and individual cognitive-based therapy to criminal justice-involved youth and adults. She received her a master’s degree in social work from the University of Connecticut School of Social Work, where she focused on International Social Work, and interned at the United Nations in NYC. Working with young people in the areas of empowerment has been a highlight in Rio’s career. Most recently, Rio worked as an in-home therapist to juvenile offenders across the state struggling with emotional and behavioral issues, offering psycho-educational and CBT therapy. Rio has also worked as an in-home caseworker with youth in the north-end of Hartford, who were suffering from the symptoms of PTSD after having a parent incarcerated. Rio has worked with youth in a residential setting, in an after school program setting, and in a summer camp setting as well.
Outside of her professional life, Rio enjoys exploring New England by way of day trips and kayaking adventures. Rio has lived in the Netherlands, Germany, and Morocco and has learned multiple languages along the way. She strives to continue traveling and learning about the world.
Nicole Marques, M.S., BCBA, LBA
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Nicole Marques is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst at A Brand New Day ABA Services, LLC. She began working for A Brand New Day ABA Services, LLC in 2017 as a Behavior Technician and in 2018, she was promoted to a Clinical Assistant. She supervises behavior technicians who provide behavioral services, based on the principles of applied behavior analysis, to individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and other related disabilities in their homes and the community. She enjoys training staff on the use of discrete trials and teaching through play.
Nicole earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Western Connecticut State University in 2011. She obtained her master’s in Applied Behavior Analysis from Western Connecticut State University in 2018. Nicole gained experience in the fields of Social Work and Applied Behavior Analysis while working in day programs, residential and in-home settings, and community programs. She worked with children and adults with a wide-range of diagnoses and behavioral challenges.
Nicole is energetic, loves to travel, crochet, and read mystery novels.
Amanda McDermott, M.S., BCBA, LBA
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Amanda McDermott is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst at A Brand New Day ABA Services, LLC. She began working for A Brand New Day in August of 2019. Amanda earned her Master’s Degree in Education from Simmons University in Boston, MA in May 2016 and is a certified special education teacher in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. She obtained her certification as a BCBA in February of 2019 by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB).
Amanda has worked in many settings throughout her career including group residential homes, private residences, and public schools. Amanda began her career as a Behavior Technician in May of 2016 in a residential home for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and severe challenging behavior. Following three years in the residential system, Amanda transitioned into the public school setting as a Special Education Teacher. During this time, Amanda oversaw a special education classroom with students ranging in ages between 6-14 and wrote Individualized Education Programs (IEP), progress reports/report cards, and behavior plans and created and modified academic materials for students within the self-contained classroom and within the general education setting.
In her spare time Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband and two cats, re-reading the Harry Potter series for the 100th time, and cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles!
Heather Reed, M.S., BCBA, LBA
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Heather Reed is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst at A Brand New Day ABA Services, LLC. She just recently began working for A Brand New Day ABA Services, LLC in 2019, but has worked in the field for over 5 years.
Heather earned her Master’s degree in Special Education and Applied Behavior Analysis from Bay Path University. She has worked with children aged 3-21 years old on the Autism Spectrum and with Multiple Disabilities. Heather has worked as a community support counselor in residential group homes; a behavior analyst in a broad-based educational services and therapy special education program, offering intensive interventions and services to students with Autism; and a behavior analyst for home and community programs.
For fun Heather enjoys taking her two dogs on hikes, exploring new places, and spending time with family and friends.
Gina Robinson, MSW, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Gina Robinson works at A Brand New Day as a supervisor to behavior technicians in ABA therapy for youth on the spectrum. She also provides assessments and parent training.
Gina received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Stony Brook University and her master’s degree in social work from NYU’s Silver School of Social Work. Her work to date has included short-term therapy for juvenile offenders, milieu therapy in day treatment programs, evidenced-based therapies in outpatient clinics, and consultation for classroom- wide behavior management.
Gina received training in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and Teacher Child Interaction Training (TCIT) under the tutelage of Dr. Steven Kurtz and Dr. Sheila Eyberg and is currently a certified international PCIT therapist and TCIT trainer. She also trained directly under Dr. Steven Kurtz in treating Selective Mutism and has run intensive therapeutic programs designed specifically for children with Selective Mutism. Gina specializes in treating anxiety disorders, mood disorders, trauma, and disruptive behaviors. She is committed to prevention and early intervention work in both general education and special education settings.
Gina has also presented at professional conferences on topics such as anxiety in children and adolescents and interventions, treatments for Selective Mutism and behavior management in the classroom.
On a personal note, after a career as an accomplished competitive figure skater, Ms. Robinson now brings her enthusiasm and expertise to coaching other young figure skaters, which she has done for the past 16 years.
Rebecca Scholl, M.S., BCBA, LBA
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Rebecca has worked in a variety of settings throughout her 4 years in the field of ABA, including schools and clinics. She began her career as a Behavior Technician in 2016 at a school that specialized in serving children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related disorders. She has experience in writing a variety of programs for vocational training that helps students transition out into the community setting. She has also conducted a variety of preference assessments for individuals of all ages. She has worked with children aging from 5-21. She earned her masters degree in Psychology with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis in August 2018 from Capella University in Minneapolis, MN. She received her BCBA certification in August 2019 and began working for A Brand New Day ABA in October 2019.
In her free time, Rebecca enjoys watching football (go Patriots!), traveling, hiking, swimming, reading and hanging out with friends and family.
Nate Green, RBT
Lead Clinical Assistant
Nathaniel Green, a Lead Clinical Assistant at A Brand New Day, is a Registered Behavior Technician, a PMT in-house instructor, and a member of the Workplace Safety Committee. He began working for A Brand New Day in 2017 as a Behavior Technician. He supervises behavior technicians who provide behavioral services, based on the principles of applied behavior analysis, to individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and other related disabilities in their homes and the community. Nate has trained new and current behavior technicians on the basics of ABA, provides support for the families as well as clinicians, manages scheduling, and assists with assessments.
Nate graduated from MCC with an Associate’s Degree and has worked in human services for 8 years. He worked in many settings such as personal residences, group homes, in-patient units, and other community settings. Nate previously worked as an Assistant Manager for a residential program, where he gained an abundance of experience working with young teens and young adults. He has worked with individuals ranging from 6 to 30 years old with a wide-range of challenging behaviors that impact daily living.
On a personal note, Nate enjoys experiencing new things in life, traveling, and sports. He currently assists with coaching a youth football team.
Chelsea Boutin, RBT
Chelsea started employment at A Brand New Day ABA, LLC in 2018. She began her employment as a Behavior Technician and was promoted to her current position as a Clinical Assistant. Chelsea is a Registered Behavioral Technician and in 2019 became a PMT coach. Chelsea has worked in both school and in-home settings with individuals on the autism spectrum and with other disabilities for about three years. She has always had a strong passion for working with children and adolescents. She enjoys having a positive impact on both her clients and their families, as well as anyone she comes in contact with.
Chelsea graduated Westfield State University in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal justice, and focused on elective courses in child development.
On a personal note, Chelsea loves animals, enjoys being outdoors, and traveling in her spare time. She has traveled to France, Italy, and England, with hopes to visit Ireland and Australia next.
Brianna Etter-Speaker, RBT
Brianna started employment at a Brand New Day ABA, LLC in 2018. She is a Registered Behavior Technician. Very recently, Brianna has joined the Clinical Assistant Team. Brianna started her career as an educator and has gradually moved her way into the field of ABA. Brianna has always worked in Special Education and found her passion through her experiences with students between the ages of 3 and 18 on the Autism Spectrum and other intellectual and developmental disabilities, over the past eleven years. She has a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and Developmental Psychology, and a Master’s in Education. Brianna has always enjoyed working with children and adolescents in and out of the field of Education.
In her free time, Brianna enjoys relaxing, visiting friends and family, being outside, and her hobbies. Her hobbies include photography, creative writing, and most of all theater. If she has the time, she can likely be found on stage.
Behavior Technician Trainer
Denise Mitchell is a Behavior Technician Trainer at A Brand New Day ABA. She has been with A Brand New Day since 2017. Denise comes with many years of experience working with individuals with cognitive and behavioral delays, in and out of the classroom. She has assisted children as young as 3 years old and those entering early adulthood.
Denise graduated in 2013 from the University of Connecticut with a bachelors degree in Human Development & Family Studies and has since dedicated her career to enhancing the lives of children on the Autism spectrum and their families.
In her free time, Denise enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends. She loves card games, from spades to poker, and is an avid dog lover and mommy… ( HI TYSON 🐾)
Zipporah Odom, RBT
Zipporah Odom is a Registered Behavior Technician and an RBT Trainer at A Brand New Day. She fell in love with the field of ABA after coming from a similar background working with children using different types of therapy. She has a Masters of Science in Psychology and has been working with children of all ages on the Autism Spectrum for a couple of years. Her goal is to be able to change as many lives as possible for the better!
Zipporah is obsessed with bunnies and loves sushi. Her favorite show of all time is Avatar: The Last Airbender and for fun, she likes to go to the trampoline park!
